Roles and Responsibilities of Saskatchewan Pulse Crop Development Board

Sask Pulse collects a mandatory 1% levy charged on all pulses sold. From this revenue collected, the organization does research that will make pulse production more efficient and profitable for Saskatchewan producers.  The organization also acts as a voice for this industry at the provincial and national levels.

   

Membership

Membership in Sask Pulse is mandatory for anyone in Saskatchewan that grows pulses.  As a member of Sask Pulse, there are benefits, including continued research and having a strong industry voice on issues important to pulse producers.

How The agency works

Sask Pulse is funded by a mandatory 1% levy charged on all pulses marketed. A producer elected board of directors leads the organization.  All directors must be Saskatchewan pulse producers.  This group of peers determines the direction for Saskatchewan pulse industry and continues to fund research and development activities aimed at increasing productivity and profitability for producers.
